Brucellosis Trends and Clustering in Xilingol Inner Mongolia 2004-2023

Brucellosis remains a significant public health concern in Xilingol, Inner Mongolia, with rising incidence rates posing challenges for disease management. Between 2004 and 2023, the region experienced a noteworthy upward trend in brucellosis cases, necessitating detailed epidemiological mapping to better target health interventions.

This study employed a retrospective analysis of brucellosis case data from health records across Xilingol, utilizing statistical clustering methods to identify high-risk areas. The sample encompassed data from hospitals and health facilities within the region, analyzing variables such as age, occupation, and geographical distribution.

The analysis revealed a 40% increase in reported brucellosis cases over the study period, with the highest incidence noted in livestock-rearing populations. Clustering analysis indicated significant hotspots in rural areas, particularly among agricultural workers, with incidence rates exceeding 100 cases per 100,000 people in certain localities.

These findings underscore the urgent need for targeted public health strategies in Xilingol, particularly aimed at educating and protecting high-risk populations. Continued surveillance and intervention efforts are essential to mitigate the spread of brucellosis, although the study's observational nature and reliance on retrospective data suggest potential limitations in establishing causation.
